Ghana: Sian/Kwahu Praso Gold Project

Midlands’ Sian and Kwahu Praso are two contiguous properties (totaling 160 sq km) located on the Ashanti Gold Belt next to Newmont’s 8.7 million oz Akyem gold deposit. The Sian property is fully permitted with a 192,400 oz indicated resource (2,568,000 tonnes at 2.33 g/t Au) and an inferred resource of 203,350 oz (2,694,000 tonnes at 2.35 g/t Au) which is NI 43-101 compliant, and which holds the same geological stratigraphy as Newmont’s Akyem mine. Midlands also has a processing plant and a 30 year mining lease, power, water and roads already in place.

The Company’s priority is the Sian project and the target is to find a multi-million ounce deposit on the Sian and Kwahu Praso properties.

Midlands has continuity of grades on the property including 10.81 g/t Au over 7m, 24.3 g/t Au over 3m, 2.08 g/t Au over 11m and 4.8 g/t Au over 5m. In May 2008, 15.13 g/t Au over 2m, 11.22 g/t Au over 2, 1.97 g/t Au over 2 and 2.21 g/t Au over 3 m were also confirmed. The Company has completed +13,000m of drilling on the property and plans to complete +20,000m of drilling and drill test the other soil anomalies located on the extensions.

Ghana: Kaniago Gold Project

The Kaniago Project is located 20 kilometres south of Keegan Resources’ 1.7 million oz Esaase Gold Deposit on the Asankrangwa Gold Belt and is contiguous to Obotan Open Pit Mine (2.8 million oz Au), Adubiaso Open Pit Mine to the south, and Abore Open Pit Mine to the north (295,400 oz Au).

The property has a gold soil corridor 7 kilometres in strike length, and on direct strike with the Abore Open Pit Mine. On the eastern part of the project, there is a gold in soil anomalous zone, which is on strike with the Obotan Open Pit Mine. On the central southern part of the project there is a gold in soil anomaly, which is on strike with Adubiaso Open Pit Mine. Drilling is planned for Q4 2008 and leading into 2009.

Tanzania: Itilima Gold and Diamond Projects

The Itilima properties total 65 square kilometres, and are located in the Lake Victoria Goldfields on the same NW-SE trend as Bulyanhulu and Geita, and 20 kilometres south of the Williamson Mwadui Diamond Mine.

Work done to date confirms the presence of gold and diamonds on the property, and drill results confirm Itilima geology is similar to well-known large volcanogenic archean deposits. The eastern part is drill ready and an induced polarization survey (IP) is planned before gold drilling commences on the Itilima Project. Future plans for the Itilima Project include Kimberlite Drill Core Analysis.
